After years of studying many religions, and respecting anyone’s choice to chose to worship God, a god, gods, a higher power, nature, or nothing. Robyn was convinced calling a stretching practice ‘Yoga’ was not respecting her friends and honoring her heart. She changed her class to S.t.R.E.T.C.H.
But feel free to say ‘Yoga’ if that makes you feel comfortable! She may say it from time to time too š
‘Yoga’ is a sacred Hindu practice, containing eight (8) limbs. As outlined by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, they are:
-Yama (ethical standards)
-Niyama (self-discipline)
-Asana (postures)
-Pranayama (breath control)
-Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses)
-Dharana (concentration)
-Dhyana (meditation)
-Samadhi (absorption or enlightenment).
